Act III - The Unseen KingdomThe way she was walking three feet ahead of me and looking away every time our eyes met... She was avoiding me.
It had been two days since we were ambushed by the soldiers of Sono Mortis. Ever since then, Avella had been acting strangely. It wasn't as if she objected to my company. Not once did she ask me to leave her presence. However she did keep a somewhat awkward distance between the two of us.
"Is there something wrong?" I asked at one stage of our journey.
"Nothing's wrong!" she had replied, too quickly and several pitches too high.
Though her behaviour was rather peculiar, a more pressing matter was occupying my mind. The truth was, there was no possible way for me to have defeated all eleven soldiers in such a short period of time. I had just overcome the sixth soldier when he entered the scenes.
Carrying a menacing aura, he was cloaked in a mantle tainted by slaughter. And within seconds of drawing his twin blades, the enemies fell around him like dolls
